Milestone

This weekend we went over 100,000 miles on our car. It took 4 years and 3 months. And that is without me driving it to work the past 3 or 4 weeks because it needs new tires. We also didn't drive it home for the wedding, so that saved us a few miles. I must say the car has been good to us with only one repair (that was covered by the warranty), and doing our regular maintenance. Who knew a Hyundai could be so good?! We had to have something fun to say that we did when we went 100,000 miles, so we drove to the beach. And then got hot fudge sundaes for dessert. Yummy!

The Honeymoon

We went on a cruise to the Mexican Riviera for our honeymoon. Luckily we didn't get sea sick and had a great time. We definitely will do our shore excursions differently if we go again.

The first stop was in Puerto Vallarta where we went hiking. The brochure said that it would be hiking in the tropical rain forest but we hiked in the dry, desert mountains. So ugly. Everything was brown and dead. The hike itself was not easy and to top it off it was about 95 degrees and we were hiking in the middle of the day. So no shade and rarely any breeze. So HOT! We survived (barely) buy my shoes did not. I walked the soles off of my shoes. I started with four sections of sole on my Teva's and ended up with one by the time we got back. We were in port for a long time that day but only had the energy to walk to Wal-Mart to buy Advil after the hike.

The second stop (the next day) was in Mazatlan. We went on a city bus tour and saw a Mexican show. This excursion was much better. We got to see cliff divers, go shopping, and see a great show while eating chips and salsa. You need more than a couple of hours to see the city but we had a fun time.

The last stop was in Cabo San Lucas. We went on a kayaking and snorkeling excursion that was fun but we had no time to see the city or shop. The kayaking was in clear bottom kayaks so you could see some sea life under you, but I didn't see any thing. Just got a blister on my thumb from paddling so much. The life jackets were a joke. It was so big and bulky that it went up to my ears when I sat down and I could hardly see. The snorkeling was better. You could see the fish and other things. But I was so freaked out that I couldn't hardly stick my face in the water. I should have practiced before I left. And to top it off, I got stung by some tiny jelly fish (along with at least half of the people on the boat). It definitely stung but it went away in about 20 or 30 minutes. They served us lunch on the boat ride back to the dock which is a good thing because we only had time to walk from where they dropped us off to the place where the tender boats picked us up. Then we waited in line forever just to get back to the cruise ship. We were able to stop one place and buy a couple of t-shirts that change color in the sun. But no time for any thing else.

We had a fun and relaxing time on the ship. The food is as good as every one tells you it is. Especially on the night they serve lobster. So yummy!

The Wedding Party

We went back to Alden's parents house to change clothes after the reception in Idaho Falls and the lighting was perfect in their front yard. I love how these pictures turned out. We had to call Alden's brother Jack to come and take pictures of us together.

So we have a lot of pictures from both the photographer and our own camera. Instead of posting tons, I picked the ones I liked the best. It all kind of went by in a blur. We had our share of the drama but in the end we were still married and it turned out just fine. I thought I would cry during the entire ceremony but only a few tears escaped and I was able to get through my vows and the audience and most importantly Alden, could hear me. Sandy (Alden's aunt) did a great job officiating the wedding and we are so grateful to her for coming all the way from Missouri to do this for us. It was so special having her there. A huge thanks to Angie for doing my hair and being a great help. Of course, I cannot forget to thank Chrissy. She worked so hard to make this day special for me and it turned out beautiful. I could not have asked for a better friend.
