So I haven't blogged in a while because nothing new is going on. Alden went to Lake Mead/Las Vegas for Memorial Day and will be back sometime this afternoon. He said they have been having a good time but I haven't been able to talk to him much. By the time they got back to the hotel each night, I was already in bed. So, I guess he'll fill me in when he gets home. I have just been hanging out, cleaning and scrapbooking. I also worked on my crocheting project. I was told I can't call it an afghan because it is more of a bedspread. But I am getting closer to being done. After I finish the current section that I am on, I need to measure it to see how many more sections I need to do. Originally I thought I would need 14 sections of 25 rows each, then I looked at it on the bed and thought I was going to need 19 sections. But I am almost finished with section 14 and going to measure just to be sure. I want to have it done by the time I go home to visit in August so my mom can show me a new stitch to finish the edges. I could use the stitch I am currently doing but I was thinking something a little fancier might be nice.

Weekend Trip

We had a fun trip to Phoenix. Although I didn't get too much sleep because we (the adults) would stay up after the kids went to bed to watch movies and then the kids would be up early and wake everyone up. I guess that's just how it goes. On Friday (I took the day off) we went to a place called Dave and Buster's for lunch. We ate first and then this place has a game area that has arcade/video games that we played in for an hour or so. Grandma and Grandpa (Alden's mom and dad) kept all of the kids so we had fun not having to worry about them. Saturday we went to Braden, Tristen, and Camden's soccer games in the morning and then to Tristen's baptism in the afternoon. It is always a neat experience seeing kids be baptised and confirmed members of the church. Sunday the men all made breakfast for us women and the kids. We left to drive home at about 1:30 pm. So the weekend went really well. I am still recovering from the sunburn on my arms from sitting at the soccer game and the sleep deprivation, though. I guess that's what to come when I have kids of my own.

So nothing new has really been going on here. The weather has been beautiful and so warm. We have enjoyed spending time at the beach. We even went to Universal Studios finally. It was fun to see and we can go back for the rest of the year for free. My favorite part of the day was shopping on the Universal City Walk. They have a great Sketchers shoe store and I found some shoes I have been looking for. I wasn't expecting to buy anything but they handed me a $10 off coupon, so I had to buy them. They are just slip on tennis shoes, but they are way cute (pink, silver and white) and very comfortable to wear to work when I stand and walk almost all day long. Next weekend we are going to Arizona for Alden's nephew's baptism. That reminds me, I need to buy him a gift this weekend.
