So it's not a huge milestone, but when I first started my blog I didn't think I would use it much or even if I would like it. But it is a great way to vent my feelings and best of all, keep in touch with long lost friends.

We got a new occupational therapist at the hospital and while she is nice... she is sucking the life out of me. I thought we were getting an experienced therapist but I think she has been out of the field for longer than anyone thought. She is so SLOW! And I feel like I have to lead her around by the hand all day, just so she gets something done. Right now I am trying to be helpful and get her orientated. Patience is the key. I hope she figures it out soon. We are happy to at least have a full time OT in the building that is willing to do treatments, not only evaluations. It will take some getting used to having another person on out team. I am so used to it just being Ted and myself with an occasional speech or occupational therapist peeking their head in.

Until next time...

Boring...and I like it!

I have decided that my life is boring...and I like it that way. I never have been very good with change and surprises so I have decided that I like doing the same thing week after week. I do get some variation of activities on the weekend but other than that my life is the same each day. So that is why I usually only post on my blog about once a week. There is nothing new to say.

Rollie and Heidie are moving to Williston, North Dakota on Monday. I know Rollie starts working right away and Heidie will probably start working at the hospital there soon. She's a nurse. They are still looking for a place to live and are hoping to rent a house for a few months before they decide if they want to buy it or not.

We got Alden's blazer back and it turns out that the transmission wasn't ruined like we originally thought. The people who stole it got it stuck in 4-low and that doesn't allow you to go over 15 miles per hour. And the light doesn't always work on the switch to tell you it's in 4 wheel drive. So we got it back in 2 wheel drive and it works great. What a relief. We are getting the cracked windshield replaced today and hope to have it sold soon. I think Alden is kind of bummed that we are selling it but agrees that the new Santa Fe is much nicer and probably won't suck money out of us for a few more years at least. And paying insurance on three vehicles in LA is crazy. Not to mention we don't need three cars. Here's hoping we get it sold soon.

Until next time...

New Car

So we finally replaced Alden's blazer. We found a good deal on a 2004 Hyudai Santa Fe and bought it. We had to finance it but they payments are doable. The Santa Fe was marked four thousand less than blue book, and we just couldn't pass up that deal. It is a golden beige color, which is not our first choice of color, but you have to take what you can get with used cars. Alden can even use it for car calls for acting. It has been fun driving it around. And I'm not afraid to drive it like I was with the blazer. I know it is going to run and not break down on the freeway.

Rollie's open house was Saturday the 11th. I am still waiting to hear how everything turned out.

Until next time...

Two Weddings!

We made it back safe and sound. The trip went really good and we had a fun time. Both of the weddings went good. Of course Rollie's was better since it was in the temple. At Britney's wedding everyone was just putting on a smile for her since no one really likes her new husband and her family doesn't seem to think this will be her only wedding. Her husband has been in and out of jail for various things and has a reputation for being involved with drugs, so it's not the best situation. But they did everything Britney wanted so she could have a good experience. She probably would have married Jake even if her parents didn't want her to. Rollie seems really happy with his new wife Heidie. At the temple it got really windy right before they came out the doors and a big piece of plywood came off the top of the building and landed on the lawn not far from where people were standing. We didn't know how safe it was but a few of us stayed and took pictures of Rollie and Heidie on the temple grounds and they sent the rest of the family back to Heidie's parents house. Eventually the wind died down and their outdoor reception turned out fine. Of course at least one thing has to go wrong at a wedding. They dropped the soft ice cream machine (it was rented) on the cement and it never did work. But a quick trip to the grocery store for ice cream and the problem was fixed. Also my dads truck started making funny noises when we drove into Logan and when he looked at it, the rear differential was eating itself and grinding. They had to go back the next day with a big trailer and tow it home.

I spent a lot of time with Chrissy and her family. It was the Uinta County fair and she had herself and her kids entered in all sorts of events. I did a lot of running around and helped her with the kids. But we had fun. Her youngest son Shane is such a cutie and he wouldn't go to his mom at the end of the week. He preferred staying with me. I also helped Chrissy decorate the centerpieces and other things for Rollie's open house on the 11th. They all turned out really good and I hope it all comes together nicely. Rollie and Heidie wanted old western things for the reception so we decorated old lanterns, saws, cowboy hats, a milk can, cow bells, bird houses, mule shoes and even an old bit (it goes in a horses mouth when you are riding it to control it better). It is amazing what a few flowers and rope and ribbon can do to the old rusty stuff. The are also using two old saddles on saw horses to decorate. Originally they wanted to have the open house at the pavillion by the ponds in Evanston but everything was booked and they ended up having to use the Stake Center, so it was a mad scramble to get enough decorations. It is a big and kind of ugly cultural hall. Here's hoping it all turns out good.

Until next time...
