Not much is going on. Alden and his brother David enjoyed eating the lobster they caught. (Even though cleaning it was yucky.) He hasn't caught any more yet, but I am looking forward to eating the dungeness crab he caught a few days ago. They are currently in the freezer.

Alden is probably going to be gone all weekend scuba diving for his advanced certification. It is kind of last minute so we'll see what happens. I tell you...don't get into scuba diving unless you are prepared to spend a lot of money. This has been crazy. And now with the advanced class he has to buy even more things. But it has all been worth it. He is having a great time and has so far made about 15 dives outside of class.

I am working on Saturday since our usual therapist needed the day off. Yay for overtime...yuck for working on Saturday. Maybe I'll get some more scrapbooking done while Alden is gone.

Fun Times

Alden's parents are now at their condo in Oceanside, which is about 90 miles south of us. We had a fun time having them stay with us. We went to Universal Studios on Thursday and Saturday, since Alden didn't have to work on those days. Friday I took Sherry and Lowell to the Hollywood walk of fame so we could see a few stars. Mostly we were looking for Elvis Presley's star but for some reason it had been taken out. I'm guessing it needed repaired. Even though we didn't get to see that star, we had a fun time. Then we drove down to Long Beach area and met up with Sherry's sister, Sandy for dinner. On Sunday we went to Long Beach again on our way to Oceanside and had the best funnel cake ever. Actually they call it a funnel sundae and you can pretty much put what ever you want on it. Alden and I had ours with cookies 'n cream ice cream with a little caramel sauce and whipped topping. Sherry and Lowell had strawberries with strawberry cheesecake ice cream and whipped topping. They were divine! We stayed with them in the condo Sunday night. It is only one block from the beach and you can see the ocean from the balcony. The only bad thing about that condo is it is also only about a block from the train tracks and man those things are loud. Especially in the middle of the night. But we survived and spent Monday at the beach with everyone. Alden's brother David and his family came up from Arizona and we all had a good time together. Of course I got sunburned despite sitting in the shade all day. I hate having such fair skin sometimes. And now I am back to work while Alden still gets to play with his family. Today Alden and David are going scuba diving again. This time Alden has his fishing license and his lobster card, so they are going lobster fishing. Sounds yummy! But I told Alden he is in charge of killing them and cleaning them so all I have to do is eat them. We'll see if they can even catch any. You have to use your hands to catch them and then put them in a special lobster bag. It is illegal to use a trap or spear on them. We'll see if they are quick enough.

Vacation

Alden's parents arrived last night. They are staying with us for a few days and I actually got Friday and Monday off of work. Unfortunately, the only time Alden gets work is when his family is here and he will be working today, tomorrow and Friday. Maybe they should come and visit more often so he will get more acting work. So we are planning on going to Universal Studios a couple of days and just hanging out. I hope his parents get a chance to relax before Sunday when the grand kids from Arizona show up. They also check into their condo on Sunday afternoon and will stay for the rest of that week. David, Amy and their four boys are staying at a state beach and camping. They are also planning a trip to Disney Land. I think we are all going to have a fun "vacation."
