Small World!

I just got an e-mail from my little brother Isaac, who is serving his mission in Texas, Huston East. He is actually in Louisanna right now. Anyhow, this is what he wrote.



howdy,
So the other day we were at the bishop's house. We were about to go with him to do some service, so while we were waiting for him I was looking at some of the picutres around the house. I was looking at one picture and I was like, "hey, I know that guy, thats Billy Wall!" The bishop's wife then informed me that he is her brother. Her name is Wendy Jorgensen. After we left to go do service she called him up and he remembered me and remembered my name too, which kinda surprised me. I love small world experiences! Later!

So anyone that knows Eliza and I very well know about Billy Wall. I haven't seen him or heard from him for a few years. But at one time we were good friends. I used to go to watch him in rodeos and take Isaac with me. We had a fun summer together. What a small world.

Sorry it's been so long since I posted last. Last week was so busy for me at work and I barely had time to breathe let alone post on my blog. We had the hospital annual update last week and on top of that I was also seeing all of the patients by myself. I got 13.5 hours of overtime last week. One good thing came out of last week, the pay check will be nice. I have been tagged for MEME but I don't have anyone to tag so here is my info.

I was just finishing my junior year of high school and getting ready to work another summer at "Maverik." I only worked the weekends during school.

I was doing the same thing. Working at East LA Doctors Hospital.

Fun with Grandma Park

Alden and I had his Grandma Park at our place for a few days. We both had to work on Friday so she had to stay at our apartment alone all day. When I got home I realized that Alden had forgotten to show her where the light switches for the kitchen/living room/dining room were located. She was sitting in complete darkness with the television turned up all the way. Now I know she is hard of hearing and wears hearing aids but it was crazy. She turned it down when I got home (or so she thought it was turned down). I thought it was still blaring. As she started to nod off watching the news, I slowly and quietly inched my hand toward the remote to turn it down some more. Mission accomplished! I did this about three more times to get it down to what I still thought was loud, but I could hear myself think. Finally when we left to go to dinner, Alden realized that her hearing aids weren't turned up enough and had her fix them. We had quite a laugh.

On Saturday we took her to Sea World. Her memory isn't so good, so even though I explained what we were doing, she still had no clue why we were driving so far. She thought we were just going to the beach. She was pleasantly suprised to discover that we were going to spend the day looking at animals and seeing shows. We rented a motorized wheelchair/scooter thing for her to ride in. That was hilarious! She was dangerous when turning around. She would turn the wheel as far as it would go and press the gas all the way down, so she whipped around at about mock 90. Luckily she didn't run into anyone, just came close a few times. It amazed me how people don't give you one inch with those motorized carts. They walk right in front of them and crowd you making you afraid to move or run into them. Alden had to drive the cart where ever there was heavy traffic. I think Grandma may have given herself whiplash a few times starting and stopping so fast.

Sunday we went to the beach for a few hours and watched the water and birds. Grandmas favorite part was watching the little kids playing. Then we went to Alden's Aunt Sandy's house in Long Beach for Mother's Day dinner. Her partner Mara made chicken fried steak and the works. Then for dessert there was homemade cake and icecream. Yummy! We left Grandma at Sandy's and she is flying back to Idaho today. We had a fun time visiting with her.

Nothing new is going on. Now I just need to get back on schedule and get the apartment put back together.

Moab was great!

We had a good time on vacation. It was nice to be away from work for a week and I actually didn't even think about work the whole time. Moab was fun... for most of us. I am very inexperienced when it comes to driving 4-wheelers and very nervous. The last time I was trail riding, Alden and I rolled his parents 4-wheeler. I have only ridden around the house and on the road a few times since then. That was almost three years ago. So needless to say, I was slow and scared most of the time. They chose the easiest trails but it still got crazy in a couple of places. I only walked once even though there were other places I was not comfortable with. Alden and the rest of the family went on more rides where they got into some crazy rocks and jeep trails. They had a blast. It was fun visiting Chrissy and her family. Chrissy and I even got to scrapbook together for a few hours each night. We weren't in Evanston very long but it was fun. And I was able to get my hair trimmed. Yeah! Idaho Falls was fun and relaxing. The weather was cooler by the time we got there but we still had a good time visiting Alden's family. By the time we left on Saturday morning, it was snowing, and we has snow on and off until Cedar City, Utah. Luckily it had been warm enough that the roads were just wet and not slick. We made it home safely and had Sunday to rest before coming back to work.

Now I am working on getting caught up on all my work here at the hospital and getting Ted calmed down after not having help for a week.
