Catching Up

Well, I have a lot to catch up on. David and his family came to visit the weekend before Thanksgiving. We all went to Six Flags on Saturday and to the beach on Sunday. Monday and Tuesday I had the stomach flu and didn't go to work. David's kids gave it to Alden and I when they were visiting. Alden's parents and Grandma Park came to visit on Sunday night and stayed through Tuesday before going on to Arizona. Alden and I followed on Wednesday and we stayed there until Sunday night. We had a good Thanksgiving at David's house and had fun playing with the kids. We brought Grandma Park back with us to LA and she will be staying with us for a few days until her daughter gets back from Utah. She thinks it is only going to be until Wednesday but we might actually have her with us until Sunday or Monday. As a whole we had a good Holiday, its too bad the stomach flu was in the middle. I could have done without throwing up in front of my future in-laws.

So Christmas seems to be in full swing every where you go now. I think I will get our Christmas tree set up this weekend, or after Grandma is gone. I am having a hard time deciding what to do for gifts this year. At least I don't have to worry about my side of the family much. All of my brothers and sisters are getting together to have dinner and be together instead of exchanging gifts. So all I have to come up with is a gift for my parents and Isaac, since he is on his mission.

Getting Ready

So today is the day that family starts to arrive. David, Amy, Jack and four little boys will get here sometime today. I think the first thing that they have on their agenda is to go to the beach, while I will be at work. On Sunday Alden's parents Lowell and Sherry and Grandma Park will get here and that night sometime David's crew will go back to Phoenix. Alden and I are giving up our bed to Grandma Park and we will be crashing on an air mattress on the floor for a few days. Tuesday, they leave to go to Phoenix and Wednesday we will follow. I have to find time on Tuesday to pack and make a frog eye salad for Thanksgiving dinner. At David's we should have more room even though everyone will be there. His house is HUGE! I have been cleaning frantically for the past few days to get everything clean and put away and attempt to baby proof our apartment as much as possible. I think I have been driving Alden crazy bossing him around and making him do things over again when it is not just right. I know that things will get dirty and cluttered quickly with seven extra people in our apartment but I had to try. I will write more after everything slows back down.

Mi Vida Loca

My crazy life... That about describes the last few days for me. On Saturday Alden and I cleaned the apartment really good and then we rented a Rug Doctor to clean our carpets. We have decided that this was a good way to go because it was cheaper, looked better, and dried faster than the professional job we had done about a year and a half ago. I am very happy with the results and it was all for about $45. Work has been keeping me busy going between San Gabriel and East LA doing about four hours at each place. Luckily East LA hasn't been very busy so I have been able to keep up with my paperwork too. I have had a sore neck for the past six days and I just can't seem to get rid of it. I woke up on Friday morning with it and even though it is feeling a little better, I am having a hard time sleeping because every time I move, the pain wakes me up. I have even tried all of the tricks at work like moist hot pack, ultrasound, and electrical stimulation and Alden is probably tired of giving me massages, but nothing has really helped. I just hope it is gone before the 18th of this month. David and Amy and their kids are coming to visit and we are all supposed to go to Six Flags but those rides won't be any fun if my neck is too sore. Enough whining. Life is busy but nothing new really. I got Thanksgiving Day and the day after off, so we can go to Phoenix for dinner. Alden's parents will be there and it should be a lot of fun.
