I just wanted to do a quick post before I leave for a week. I am so excited to have a few days off of work. Ted still isn't back but he is hoping to come back to work next week. And hopefully things will be back to normal when I get back. I keep thinking that Ted is going to be asking me to do more things that are actually part of his job, but I'm not sure what else there is that I can do. I am already doing so much of the paperwork. I guess he may have me start seeing more of the outpatients, but who knows. At least our director of operations appreciates the work I am doing and acknowledges that I am working hard to keep the department running as smooth as possible. July 24th was Alden's birthday so we went out to dinner at Red Lobster. It was way yummy. I got him a new camping backpack with special air vents to keep you cooler and some new clothes. When he was younger they always had a big celebration because Idaho Falls does a parade and fireworks and fun stuff going on all day. Here it is just another day. Everyone goes to work and does their normal routine. My friend, Chrissy, is getting physical therapy on her wrist and hand after having surgery and it turns out that her therapist is one of my old clinical instructors. He found out that we are best friends and basically wants to meet with me to offer me a job with him at his new facility in Evanston. I am so torn. I really want to take the job and move home. It would be a great opportunity and I would be back working in an outpatient setting, which is what I love doing. On the other hand, I have told Alden that I would live here in LA for him to pursue his dream of acting. (At least a few more years.) At times I would love to be closer to home and other times the distance is nice. No crazy family drama. I'm not sure living in Evanston would be good for us. Just a little clarification on the whole blazer situation. Alden decided to fix the blazer and then sell it for more profit. But the whole thing is taking a lot longer than planned. I was hoping to have it all done before we left but it isn't even fixed yet. We are still looking for a replacement vehicle. We have looked at a few things and haven't decided if we want a SUV so we have two different sized vehicles or if we should get another car. I guess we'll just wait and see. Until next time...

Nothing new is really going on. I am excited to have a few days off work and go home to visit. This week Ted has not been at work. He is in the hospital and had to have an angiogram done on one of his carotid arteries and a stent put in. He is really lucky that they found the problem and got it taken care of before he had a stroke or heart attack. (The carotid artery is in the neck and supplies the brain with blood. It was 90% blocked.) I hope he is able to come back to work soon or I might just go crazy. Especially with leaving for Wyoming in a week. I would hate to have to leave the patients with someone who is not familiar with the building and the procedures we do here. But I am for sure leaving. They better not try and stop me from going to these two weddings. They are definitely more important right now. And so is my sanity. Alden's blazer still isn't fixed. Which reminds me... Alden need to call the mechanic and find out what the progress is.

We had a fun time with Alden's parents and brother. I think all of us are tired from doing so many things, but we had a good time in the process. We took them to Sea World, Venice Boardwalk, the beach, the Queen Mary and the Aquarium of the Pacific. Needless to say, we kept everyone busy. I had to work a few of the days but Alden kept them entertained. Work is going good and I am excited to have a few days off at the end of the month when I go home for Britney and Rollie's weddings. It will be nice to have a break. Ted will be gone the whole month of September so this is about the last time I can take days off before he leaves. I plan on spending a lot of time with Chrissy and her family and also hanging out with my family. Until next time...

It's Official!

Rollie is officially getting married on August 4th in the Bountiful Temple. My dad said they booked the temple so I went ahead and took the days off that I need to go to both Britney's and Rollie's weddings. Alden's parents and his brother Jack are meeting us at Sea World on Wednesday and they will be staying with us until Saturday or Sunday. It is supposed to be really warm, so the beach should be fun. I don't think we have anything else officially planned. Just hang out and have a fun visit. I'm sure Sherry (Alden's mom) will go see her sister Sandy one day too. The blazer is officially totalled and the insurance is going to give us about $3300 for it. So unfortunately we are going to have to finance another vehicle since the only thing that we want is about $7000. I am actually glad to be rid of the blazer. It has been a money sucker since Alden bought it in 2002. Hopefully we can get something dependable that won't need work for a couple of years... or even months. Until next time...
